Ecological design, sustainability and energy efficiency are becoming very important concepts in the field of industrial construction. These criteria have a wide variety of advantages that help reduce the environmental impact.

Today we share 5 measures for a more sustainable industrial construction.

  1. Reuse of rainwater
    Rainwater collected on clean surfaces through different collection systems can be accumulated for subsequent reuse in various purposes such as watering, reducing the consumption of drinking water.
    Water, being such a fundamental element in our day to day life, is being limited due to droughts and climate and taking into account the high cost of this resource, all the amount that we can reuse will mean a significant saving.
  2. Use of photovoltaic panels
    The purpose of this type of plates is the transformation of electrical energy from solar radiation to supply the electrical consumption of the industrial unit.
    This technology can be used by isolated installation -necessary for those areas that do not have access to the electricity network- or installation connected to the network.
  3. Low consumption lighting
    The use of LED technology can considerably reduce energy consumption due to its high savings capacity. This type of luminaires have a great advantage over conventional lighting because its lifetime is greater, its consumption is lower and the emission of heat and ultraviolet rays is kept to a minimum.
  4. Thermal insulation
    The application of insulating systems provides a significant reduction in the thermal load of the building, the electrical consumption of air conditioning and lighting.
    Reduction in CO2 emissions to the atmosphere and environmental pollution and increase in worker safety, are other advantages that we obtain with the use of these systems.
  5. Local construction
    The fact of working with local companies will make the transportation times are less in addition to favoring the reduction of CO2.


By using these features we will not only achieve a more sustainable space, but we will create a healthier work environment.
However, for the space to be considered sustainable in its entirety, the current legislation encourages obtaining a certificate that confirms the quality of the eco-friendly implementation in the infrastructure itself, since the European Union aims to improve efficiency of buildings in the very near future.
